1. Tim Winton

Tim Winton is an acclaimed Australian author born on August 4, 1960, in Subiaco, Western Australia. Although not originally from Liverpool Plains, Winton spent his early childhood in the town of Northam, which is located within the region. He is known for his powerful works exploring themes of Australian identity, environmentalism, and the complexities of human emotions. Some of his most notable novels include "Cloudstreet," "Breath," and "Dirt Music," which have received numerous awards and critical acclaim.

2. Sir Richard Owen

Sir Richard Owen was a renowned British biologist and paleontologist born on July 20, 1804, in Lancaster, England. While he isn't directly associated with Liverpool Plains, his significant contributions to science warrant mention. Owen is known for coining the term "dinosaur" and for his extensive research on fossils and anatomy. He served as the superintendent of the natural history department at the British Museum and played a vital role in establishing the Natural History Museum in London.

3. John Anderson

John Anderson, born on November 14, 1893, in Molong, New South Wales, was an influential Australian philosopher and educator. Despite not being native to Liverpool Plains, Anderson's intellectual contributions make him an important figure to mention. He held the Challis Chair of Philosophy at the University of Sydney, where he developed his pragmatic philosophy known as "empiricism." Anderson was a strong advocate for academic freedom and contributed significantly to the development of Australian philosophy during his tenure.

4. Victor Chang

Victor Chang, born on November 21, 1936, in Shanghai, China, was a renowned Australian cardiac surgeon. Although Chang wasn't specifically associated with Liverpool Plains, his achievements and contributions in the field of medicine deserve recognition. He played a pivotal role in advancing heart transplantation techniques and establishing Australia's first major heart transplant program. Chang co-founded the National Heart Transplant Program and was renowned for his surgical skills and dedication to saving lives. Sadly, he was fatally shot during a failed extortion attempt on July 4, 1991, in Sydney.

5. Emily Lloyd

Emily Lloyd, born on September 29, 1970, in London, England, is a British actress known for her notable roles in film and television. Although not originally from Liverpool Plains, she has a connection to the region. Her breakthrough role came in 1987 when she played the lead in the film "Wish You Were Here," which was partly filmed in the Liverpool Plains area. Lloyd's performance garnered critical acclaim and established her as a promising talent. She went on to appear in various films and TV shows, including "In Country" and "The Valet."

6. Angus Young

Angus Young, born on March 31, 1955, in Glasgow, Scotland, is a renowned Australian musician and co-founder of the rock band AC/DC. Though not hailing from Liverpool Plains, Young's global musical impact warrants inclusion. His family migrated from Scotland to Australia when he was a child, settling in Sydney. Young's energetic stage presence, iconic schoolboy outfit, and guitar skills have made him an influential figure in the rock music industry. AC/DC's massive success, with hits like "Highway to Hell" and "Back in Black," has solidified their place as one of the greatest rock bands of all time.
